Orenius/Emanuelsson Agility seminar - AUDIT SPOTS per day SYDNEY
Agility seminar - SYDNEY
Featuring the talented duo of Jouni Orenius and Isabelle Emanuelsson
Course content - Open and Novice levels
Being a handling seminar the main focus will be on improving different areas of handling such as the handler´s movement, timing, precision etc. Close attention will be paid to the execution of handling techniques. We are going to start out by going through some basic and more advanced techniques. We will learn how and when to use them in smaller combinations after which we will be training on more open competition like courses. Here we will also pay attention to finding the optimal lines for the dog as well as focus on our own timing. We want to keep our handling effective. You have to be both fast and accurate on the course and with today´s challenging courses that often means that you need to utilize various different handling techniques. To be effective you first of all need to know how to perform the techniques. This is why we are going to go through various techniques in detail so that it will be easy for you to practice them later on. After this it all comes down to practicing these movements to build muscle memory making it more natural or almost automatic for you to perform them. However, knowing and being able to perform different techniques is not enough but you need to understand when and where to use them to get most benefit. This is why we will look at specific situations, such as the s-line, where we make use of specific techniques. We will also need to know when to start signalling. This is where our timing comes in to the picture.
So basically in this seminar 3 different questions will be addressed: What? Where? and When? The main focus is in the handler´s signals and how to cue them to use different techniques (what), different situations and sequences where to apply these techniques (where) and timing (when).
The course outline will be the same for all levels but the exercises for each Level will differ.
For each level there will be 2 groups of up to 12 working spots. One group will go with one instructor and one with the other instructor. The groups will swap instructor halfway through the day.
